From the bestselling author of The Misadventures of the Laundry Hag series comes a new mystery series of mouthwatering proportions...
Pretty please with spaghetti on top?
Andy Buckland has always dreamed of being a chef. But after a live studio audience is stricken with food poisoning during her debut cooking show, she finds herself blacklisted in the culinary community. The only job open to her is working in her family's southern pasta shop, and, to make matters worse, her first assignment is serving baked ziti to her former lover and his spoiled bride-to-be at their engagement party! But a broken heart and a bruised ego are the least of Andy's troubles when she discovers a dead body at the party with the words "welcome home" written in flour next to it. Is it a warning? A threat? Or a frame-up job? Andy is determined to find out. With the help of her over-the-top Italian family, Andy will prove that she has what it takes to not only cook the best dish in town but also catch a killer, too!

My review:
Jennifer sent me an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion, so thank you, Jennifer! The start of a new series with a bite! Hart described the characters in full detail as well as their personalities, so much so that it's easy to relate. Filled with humor and mystery this is a story that you can sink your teeth into. The chemistry between Jones and The Death Chef was palpable. On top of all the pasta being made, Hart fills you with recipes, complete with Andy's little tips. I'll be honest, I was pretty sure I figured out whodunit early on. I was way off base! Hart has an uncanny ability to fill her stories with sarcasm and wit, all the while keeping you guessing. I'm looking forward to the next in the series, as well as all of the other books she's writing. I highly recommend this book to anyone that enjoys a bit of mystery.

Jennifer L. Hart knows that surviving as military spouse takes persistence, comfort food and a stellar sense of humor. Her books often focus on people who’ve lived the military lifestyle and zany antics of neurotic heroines, who like to eat, drink and have fun. Her works include The Misadventures of the Laundry Hag series, the Damaged Goods mysteries and Murder Al Dente, from Gemma Halliday Presents.
